Purple Pirates Week 3

From the Crow’s Nest

Keeping a look out…

This week we learned that just like a pirates are known by their speech, we, as children of God, must also be known by the things we say…and don’t say.

Heave Ho!

Hiding God’s Word

Our memory verse this week was Ephesians 4:29

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers

Get your pirate crew together and say it in your best pirate voices!!

Batten Down the Hatches!

making what we have learned secure

Pirates were known by their speech…and as children of God we are known as people who do not engage in evil talk…whether bad words or gossip or insults, choosing instead to edify or lift up others. Help your students find someone who may need some “edifying” this week and perform a random act of kindness. It could be an anonymous letter, homemade cookies or a gift card.

Purple Pirates – Lesson 2

From the Crow’s Nest

Keeping a lookout…

This week we learned that just like a pirate ship is controlled by the smallest of pieces, the rudder, we must learn to control our tongue. We must be slow to speak and quick to listen.

Heave Ho!Hiding God’s Word

Our memory verse this week was Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Get your pirate crew together and say it in your best pirate voices!!
Batten Down the Hatches!
Parents, Help us make what we have learned secure!
Pirates were known by their speech…and as children of God we are known by our ability to control our tongues (and tempers!) As a family, create your own language or code word to remind the members of your pirate crew to control their tongue.
